I went to guitar center today, to see if they got any SR4 HH in stock yet, which they didn't. I did see on a wall a sterling HS, so I decided to give it a try. This thing rocked. I spent a little over an hour playing with it. The neck felt perfect to me. Looks like I'll be getting a HH sterling now.

I agree with you totally. I have a SUB and a SUB Sterling. (Bought 'em used after the line got discontinued.) I like the Sterling neck much better now that I've played both of them for a while. You know 10 minutes at GC can't compare to hours of practicing. So I'm really happy I ordered a Sterling rather than a Stingray so I'm in your camp. To each his own...

There are a lot of Sterling HS fans here but the HH Sterling is the one for me.

Well, I'll actually have two when the DDs come out but you know what I mean...

Good choice...

I came close to a Stingray too - that's what was in stock in a config that worked for me - but I kept going back to the Sterling...

That's the one that feels perfect to me! :)

I was actually at GC today as well, was looking at GK cabs, found a vintage sunburst SR4 HH and fell in love. THEN I saw a shop worn Bongo 4 HH for under $800, almost walked with that.

I got the same reaction as you. Draganr.
If I would see a Bongo HH for 800$ I'd buy it no matter the color or bankaccount status. :)

I saw BP's movie where he shows of the Sterling the other day.
I always thought them to be a Stingray-light version but after seeing that clip and this thread I am going to check one out this weekend.
I really love a stingrays unplugged sound, If a a sterling comes close then I want one.

I played a Sterling HS at a GC too, and the TONES were so killer.

Deep, clear, top end ring, or growl. Awesome.

But I need a fiver, and cash. Someday, a SR5 HS ....(or Sterling5 HS????)

Hold out for the stingray, I thought I wanted a sterling too until I tried them side by side.
