Justin Sandercoe (my favorite online instructor) has just put up a review and demo of the EB wah. I've largely ignored pedals but now gotta have one. :D

Well spotted, great stuff.

Justin has such a great catalogue of lessons online.

He comes across as a very cool guy, very easy to listen to.

Cool coincidence i just finished watching an older vid of the demo of this wah pedal by a fellow named Blues something cant remember his last name. The thing that stood out in my mind about the pedal was its sweep rate.Apparently the sweep rate on most other pedals is around 12' and this new wah is around 18' which gives it more vocal quaility and a bit more action.I have 7 wah pedals from various companies and like to modify them myself and see what makes them tick. But this wah caught my attention from the stand point of its sleek design and added vocal range.

EB makes great stuff and i am sure this will be a hit as well.

Great video! I wonder if he borrowed the pedal from Dario Cortese...

Thanks for sharing!

Hello Beth,

I used the new Wah at London International Music Show last year, I think Dario, Brian and myself used the same one on the stand.

As soon as I got home I ordered one.

I have since "binned off" my other wah, this one sounds great, has a large sweep and is very easy to control, also built like a tank.

Its the new "must have with me pedal" on my pedal board.

P.s. Hope your well and planning a trip for London this year, you could always bring Big Poppa and we could all talk about golf!

Golf?

Blues whats his name is blues sarasceno a great player and friend

Didnt mean any disrespect towards Mr Blues Sarasceno....honestly could not remember his last name.but his first name was catchy enough for me to remember..

He is a HELL of a player from the little i saw of his demos he did on EB strings and the wah pedal.Really like his style very smooth almost a Bonamassa (another name thats hard to spell and remember) type feel to it.
You keep some pretty headdy company as far as top players go:) can you keep up to him or does he pretty much kick your butt!.

P.S does he Blues Sarasceno have any instructional dvd's out?.I could learn a ton off a guy like that.Love the GOLD SPARKLE Albert he was playing too.

Here is the Demo with Blues

Yes golf, you can "rub in" your Rider Cup victory a bit more!

Cricket is far too complicated......even if you're from England.

Football (or soccer if you're from across the pond), could be topical as David Beckham is playing for LA Galaxy.

Or in the immortal words of Frank Zappa I could just "Shut Up N' Play My Guitar", which happen to be a Steve Morse and a Morse Y2D.

Hope you can make the next "Bash" in the UK it would be great to meet you, unless the above message effects my employment in any way.

P.S. Blues does rock!

Cheers,

The Devil.

Ernie Ball Wha wha repair

I logged on today in an effort to get instructions on dismantling my recently purchased Ernie Ball Wha Wha pedal.
Last night after drinking almost a full bottle (700ml) of dark rum I decided to give the neighbours some curry. I plugged in the old JTM30, put her on standby, fired up my trusty TC Electronics G Sharp then plugged in my new toy, the New Ernie Ball Wha Wha but nothing happened!! Worked fine on by-pass but when I stomped on her G Spot she refused to play. Must be the 9v battery I thought, so I dragged out one of my many spare 240v to 9v transformers,.................still nothing. **** it's broken, I thought and then remembered having dropped the beast a week or two ago. Must have damaged the internals so I pulled out the handy Stanley Screwdriver Kit and as I was about to begin the job of dismantling this new pedal I thought I'd better get some advice. That led me to the web,...couldn't find a single hit on dismantling the Wha wha,..plenty on the volume pedal but none on the wha wha.,..just tons of ads saying how indestructible this pedal was. Indestructible? indestructible??? Bull****! I thought,..I dropped this brand new wha onto shag pile carpet from 3 feet up and it's broken? Cannot be, just cannot happen.
So after reading about how solid this piece of cast aluminum was I decided to look to myself, what could I have done? Batteries were OK leads were plugged in? Leads? leads!!! Yes it must be the leads,...and it was.
What I did was reverse the 1/4 leads so that In was out and out was in. That's why the bypass worked and the wha channel didn't.
Man I was standing over this beautiful new Ernie Ball wha wha with a screw driver and a crow bar about to disembowel her but luckily Ernie Ball's marketing convinced me to try again because their pedals are so damned solid they won't break so it must have been ME!
Thanks Ernie Ball advertising! I reversed the leads mixed another Rum and Cola (Mon!) and she's wha wha wha 'ing as if Jimmi was in the room>:D

In addition,.I've owned many wha wha pedals, been playing since 1967 and have used Cry Babys as well as many other whas but his new Ernie Ball wha is amazing. Such a broad sweep that I have much more control over the tone. Of course the ol' ankle works harder but it's worth the effort I get some amazing wha wha wha wha wha wha wha wha wha wha!!! tones.

I owned 8 diff wah's over the years, always looking for something better. I bought my EB wah a couple of years ago & my wah GAS ended. It's perfect...the voicing, the sweep of the pedal, sounds good clean & dirty, everything. GET ONE!
