left handed people are statistically more likely to commit suicide, so be nice to us

Tell him they only make guitars one way the right way. the machines would blow up if they tried to make it any other way. so he'll "have" to play it like that. lol

but yeah i taught a lefty friend how to play right handed. so there's still hope

It's so great to hear there are so many lefties that play righty. I know about SM & BP and all, but it's so reassuring to know that the mutant / retard gene that makes lefties PLAY lefty only affects a very unfortunate few.

The knot in my stomach has loosened. :D ;)

add mark Knofler on top of the list with BP and SM :)

Now a real lefty can play with a right handed guitar with the string upside down (Doyle Bramhall II) :D

I was diagnosticed lefty when I was a child but when I went to school and learned to write the teacher said "take the pen in you right hand" as I was very nice kid, I just followed the instruction. as a result today I use either right or left hand for many thing (DYI for example). Most annoying thing about that is when someone says turn right when I'm driving, I turn left systematicly :D

I have two lefty friends and both play righty. Their explanation of it was this:

A) most the work when playing righty, is with the left hand. Their left hands are dominate, so it actually kind of makes sense. Sort of seems like we righties are playing backwards...

B) left handed options are few and far between as well as more expensive.

Yeah, I've thought about this in the past too.
Would certainly apply when learning pick style (i.e. RH is just strumming)

But I started of with classical guitar, and it's the right hand that gets the vast majority of the attention early on.

That's it..............

:D :p ;)

Yeah, the arguement was based more on rock guitar... Anything with heavily involved picking or patterns is another beast.
