Ok guys and gals....I received some awesome finger pickin' songs from my buddy KEI...harold, pete, pedro, jon, george, whatever his name is a few days ago. I wanted to be able to let everyone here check out his stuff. So, with his permission, I posted these tunes online for him. Take a listen and check out his wonderful style of playing. Each one of those tunes has a special meaning to him. Unfortunately, I was not able to post all of them. I could only post 3, so, I had the hard task of deciding which 3 to post. Well, these are the ones I picked. Keith, you rock man. IF you ever get the chance to play guitar or just get a chance to hang out with him, do it. He is super cool.

kbaim,

the songs are great, and so is the playing. well done. bro!

I love how fluid your fingerstyle comes across. I am completely lacking in that area of playing. You make me want to learn, though!

This guy sucks; he sucks because he destroys my desire to play. One note from him is better than I can do. WAAAAH! ;)

You rock, Kei...er, Bob, er, Mike, er, Fred, er, Melissa. Good stuff dude! :D

Been there. Heard that

Just got back from seeing RAY. A great, great movie. One amazing scene after another and great performances both musical and acting wise.

Melissa: :D

I have just checked all 3 of the songs right now, and they all appear to be playing fine as of now. Maybe you caught it at a bad time?

I just peeked at what koogs uploaded, and I've heard them already from the CD's that you anted up to me previous. If you'd like, I can lob some more of these bad boys up off of the CD's, I have space for it, etc. -- shoot me an email, kids!

This isn't the sort of stuff I'd usually listen too, but I'm glad I did. "Pretty" isn't an adjective I throw out much, but hey, there it is.

Yeah, those 3 are a bit on the mellower side of my playing. Koogie may also post the other 2 I sent him, one of which is full on rock and the other kinda fluctuates between clean and distortion. Stay tuned.

Or don't :(

All the guitar was recorded at home into my Korg D1200, then downloaded to a roland 2480 where we recorded everything else (with absolutlely no experience obviously. ;)

When I found the sax player, it sort of redirected my composing style for a time allowing him to really shine...I hope.
KEI...I mean, heavy metal guy

To answer one question....no. I am not a blonde. In fact, I have no hair. Mother Nature can be entertaining as well...... ;)

It was very hard for me to pick the three to upload. There are other tunes that are rockin' as well. I just really love his finger pickin' and decided to put them on the site. I am going to put the others on there sometime soon. Stay tuned. Glad you all enjoyed the music from one of our own....

Nice stuff Kei...etc.

Which guitar are you using for those tracks?

Sacred Strings -- Luke,neck+middle pickup (pos 4), w/delay
Jungle Karma -- Axis SS mm90 w/Piezo,middle pos+piezo blended w/delay
I'll Miss You -- Axis SS mm90 w/piezo, middle position on 2 tracks w/delay
piezo direct/dry on two other tracks (recorded simultaneous)

Seriously though, I/we had zero recording experience. we were winging it. Definitely has it's warts, but no one wanted to spend to have it done professionally, except me. Isn't even mastered (whatever that is ;) ).

Holy C&*^…who’s playing the Sax? (III Miss You) I mean the guitar playing is one thing, but the composition on a whole is truly outstanding…I’m sorry that I didn’t give this a listen to earlier. That particular song reminds me of Audience (cool band).
Sacred Strings was nice, enchanting and spiritual. Jungle Karma, it has a Stanley Jordan feel, sweet…keep up the good work Kman! Holy C&*^!

Thanks Raz.

John Grube is the sax player. He also played vibes on 2 other tunes we recorded. Damn talented guy! To my ears, his playing on I'LL MISS YOU is almost perfect.

A song called "celebration time" may appear on the link in the future, it has some nice flute playing by the bass player, and the flute and guitar trade licks in it.

Finding those guys really helped alter/broaden my composing. Before that it was pretty much rock/distortion. And good ol pentatonic scales

Thanks again,
KEITH

No problem. I will post the others shortly and let you all know. I might throw one of mine in there somewhere (not as good, but I'm trying....hehehehe).

The really cool things though, I got a chance to sit down and watch (learn) Keith play. He played one tune that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up! And I am completely bald...heheheheh...

Keith, we need "Dreamin'" posted. That is a spectacular song as are all his others.

RE: DREAMING

Well, I wish I had a recording of it with something other than just guitar. It was the drummers studio and we recorded all instruments there other than guitar which I did at my home studio (an ebmm, line 6 flextone II, and Korg D1200).

I wrote DREAMING (open G tuning) after we broke up in May. I played it a few times with a 30 year old Japanese female violinist (hubba hubba), and once with John Grube playing vibes about a month ago.

If I could find some way to record with either (but preferably both), I'd do it in a second.

...but seeing as how I haven't spoken with exbandmates (drummer and bassist) since June, I'm not sure how or when it'll happen.

But I really truly appreciate the kind words on it Koogie.

And thanks to those who listened to the other stuff and posted comments.
