Koa Petruccis

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone has the definitive answer here but I noticed that some Koas seem to have the gold hardware and others have chrome. Is this a retailer specific difference? Who gets what? And then, am I crazy or is there two different burst options (an island burst and also a honey burst)? Can anyone clarify? Thanks guys!

GC and Musician's Friend are basically the same thing. In fact it seems that they have the same central warehouse location, as the serial numbers for BFR JP7s I've looked at on both sites are exactly the same.

The gold hardware Koas were from the original run. The latest will have chrome and are actually a different color.

All Koas, except those from Musicians Friend and GC, still come with gold hardware--6s, 7s, and baritones.

The original Koa guitars were a different (similar) burst color. The Island Burst is a bit more transparent and lively, the original color was a little bit darker.
