The Ibanez Wannabe Bongo!
RD500SB.jpg

Just thought it would be intresting for ya'll to see. It is pretty similar to the Bongo in quite a few ways, but it still isnt a Bongo. Thought I'd show ya'll the "competition". :D:D

Without the headstock, it can't even be a wannabe...but I don' spit on Ibanez, for the price, most of their models are good quality and sounding instrument. If you don't have much cash, Ibanez can be a good choice (and you'll still want an EBMM an spare money for it... ;) ).

+1

I've owned a few Soundgears and found the slim neck very comfortable. Their active electronics aren't so bad and in IMHO they are a good value for the money.

That being said, it was an SR800 that moved out to make room for my Sterling. ;)

well, i guess i said bongo becuase of the pickup configuration and number of frets. mind you, i know very little about laklands and a alot more about bongos, so the association went to a bongo and not a lakland.

I got stuck Saturday night when a guitar player asked me to sit in and close out the last set....I had no bass with me, I was there to eat, drink and be merry with the wife. But what could I do?

I used what the bassist had there. A double pickup Ibanez something or other. It was not at all horrifying, although I'm not likely to rush right out and try to find one for myself.
