Life is wierd around my head lately ...

Last week I was all for throwing in the towel and selling up, but yesterday I was out for a pizza dinner with my friend the gutarist from that rag-assed soul band i just left. We got to talking about other kinds of music and ...

It turns out that he writes his own material, and he really wants to hear it performed, so the idea of pulling a new band together came up ... and he handed over a couple of numbers for me to listen to, comment on, and work up a bass line if I liked them enough ..... OK .. that's a no-loss situation I thought ...

Well here it is ... given that :

1) they were made on a little 8 channel home mixer
2) he's a guitarist, but on these he played every instrument himself, programmed the drum machine, sang lead and harmony parts and did the mixing - all in his living room.
3) These songs have never been heard or played outside his living room before,
4) They're very Dutch ...

But with those provisos, I still wanted to share with you these "rough demos" as he describes them ...

Then he tells me hes got 10 of these already in the can, and can write more ...

No question about it .. if he wants me ... I'm in a new band - oh yes please I am!

THANK YOU THE EBMM Bass Forum .. every one of you!
I hope you enjoy them.

Very catchy tunes!! Isn't life strange? First you were gonna quit, now this opertunity comes along. First I hated Bongos, now I'm in love with them. Ya never know from day to day what's gonna happen.

BP could wake up with a full head of hair tomorrow....ya just never know.....

(I sense my bass will take additional months now)

Same thing happened to me, I was playing music forever then I just got burnt out. I found mountain biking and I figured I was gona give up bass playing.
Then all of a sudden a band that I was friends with asked if I wanted to play with them after my 11month off.

I was hesitant but went and I love it, I love gear again, my playing has improved and I'm getting to play in Hollywood for a chance at record deal or something.

Stuff sounds fun man keep at it, and if you have to take a break just realize its a nice breather and it will make you appreciate getting back into it that much more.
