I know this isn't an EBMM guitar, but i had to share it with you! I just got this Charvel in the mail yesterday.

I put a deposit on this guitar back in September! Since then I discovered the EBMM EVH, and how much better of a guitar it is! And as you all know i bought one!

I couldn't get my deposit back on the Charvel, so I had to buy it. It is on ebay right now (just selling it for what i have into it). Can't afford to keep both. :(

It is a pretty good guitar though, pickups are not nearly as nice as the EBMM. I like the EBMM neck better too.

So if you have a friend that is looking for one of these new EVH models, send them my way!

Hows that Wechter acoustic?

Comparable to the models Musicians Friend sells now? They look pretty interesting and I need an acoustic....

i would think the necks would be pretty close as they were both modeled after the franky neck. just curious can you describe the difference. you got some nice guitars there by the way.

The Wechter that i have is a Paw Paw, MI made Pathmaker. Actually, it was custom made for me. It is a funny story....

I was driving through town one day and i saw a new sign on this building, it said Wechter Guitars. I thought to myself, SWEET we are getting a guitar store in town.

I stopped to go inside, open the door, and all i saw was woodworking equipment!

Abe Wechter immediately came up to me and said hi, we introduced ourselves and talked for a while. He gave me a full tour of the shop and I started making frequent visits to the shop.

When Abe found out about my photography backround, he asked me if i would be interested in photographing guitars for his website in trade for a Pathmaker Acoustic. I said that sounded like a plan!

So once I had fullfilled my end of the deal we started to build my guitar. I got to pick out the top wood (spruce), side wood (curly maple), binding wood (birdseye maple), fretboard(ebony) and color. The cool thing was that i was able to see it being built all the way through. The color of my Wechter is the first blue burst that Abe ever did, we kinda came up with that color.

It is a great guitar! Nice action, great tone! They are a little pricey, my guitar would run about $2300. The import models are very nice also...all final setups are done here in paw paw, MI....not in asia! so there is a lot of quality control!

thanks dude!

as far as the necks....i only have those guitars to compare it to. it feels kind flat to me, not as flat as an ibenez, but not as pounded as my EBMM EVH.

I only plugged it in for 5 minutes...the action was really good.

I paid $2700 for it.

The pickup is so-so. the neck is ok, kinda wide at the nut. it has good balance.

The EBMM EVH is much better!!!

I'm glad you liked the Wechter story!!! :)

Yikes $2700. I paid less than $2000 for mine. I have a Red White Black. Where did you get it from?

my first mistake was putting a deposit on it through ed romain guitars. they assured me that they were going to get the most guitars from charvel and that i would get my guitar quicker.

i believed them and gave them a $500 deposit. i was told that i would have a guitar by the end of nov.

well then charvel didn't ship guitars like they had promised, so i called ed romain and asked for my deposit back, because i had already bought the EBMM EVH and i was happy with that. i really didn't want it anymore. (i didnt tell them that though)

they refused to refund my deposit. so i had to buy the guitar. end of story

it was my own stupid fault, i got all hyped up about these new EVH's...i fell for the hype.

I think the EVH Charvel pickup is pretty much the Wolfgang pickup, well thats what l've heard people say. But l think the wolfgang pickup is terrible.

Yeah the EBMM EVH is a much better guitar, l haven't played a charvel, and don't plan on playing one, $2700 for a one pickup, one volume guitar. Serious though, I hope you get your money back.

Scott.

That is funny that you wrote that, because he yelled at me too!! He told me that the deposit was non-refundable. I told him that i never signed anything stating that my deposit was not refundable. Ed got all pissy and said well then get a lawyer and sue me! I was in MI he was in Vegas...he knew i was hopping a plane to get my deposit back!

The really funny part of this story is that after this yell fest between ed and I, the salesman called me back 25 minutes later and said ED somehow produced a guitar for me in 25 minutes and that it would be shipping the next day! Maybe i sounded like a lawyer! he is such a FU****' Ass****!!!

Well, it was either lose my $500 deposit or buy the guitar? At least i have the guitar.

I have some "friends" in the Vegas area who have met this idiot and basically told him that he could become chum if he gets pissy with them.......needless to say, the dude was "magically" adjusted in the attitude department. I told my friend they should have taken his pot of gold anyway......just to watch him cry....hehehehe.......I can't wait to go to Vegas just to walk into the "Super Show Room" and talk to him.....I would like to see how he is personally. If he gets pissy, well, bad day for Ed I guess....hehheheehe..........Sorry about your luck man, hope you get back what you put into it.

Oh man that is terrible. I have been wanting one of those JET guitars, but unfortunately he is their sole distributor. I have heard nothing but horror stories about Ed Roman since I started with message boards(about 5 years ago), in any case that's why I have always been turned off to getting a JET, I just didn't want to deal with him. By the way I have been to his Vegas store when it 1st opened. My understanding is that it has moved to a bigger location since. It was the snootiest place. Everything has a do not touch sign, and all the salesguy did was talk about how Ed was great and Ed was the biggest and blah blah. You couldn't even go in without an escort. I had to ring a bell, to be let into a waiting room. Then I think I was looked over to see if I should be allowed any further in. Then I was buzzed into the main room with a saleman never more than 2 feet from me. Brent I'm not being rude or anything but the chances of you selling that Charvel for the price you want is almost zero. I bought a Bullseye a few months ago then decided to sell it(i couldn't get used to the 1 3/4 neck). Let me tell you I couldn't give that thing away. In less than a month with about 10 mintues use on it. I took a $1000 bath. Charvels just aren't that popular. They are high quality, it's just they have little appeal to most, and since you paid top dollar for yours, no one is gonna give you what you want. You can get them brand new all day without hassle or being in the know, for at least $500 less. My advice keep it, people are funny, as soon as Ed leaves Charvel or if anything happens to him. people will all of a suden pay top dollar for these EVH guitars. Look at the Wolfgangs, new ones used to sell all day on Ebay for $700, now they are all selling for about $1200-1500. Another example is the Dimebag Washburn stuff. Those guitars would not sale at all(that is why Washburn let him go), he dies and all of a sudden $400 guitars(which wouldn't sell for $250) are selling for $1000 with no problem. Just look at the EBMM EVH same guitar(1mm, and a toggle switch location) and the Axis and look at the prices those demand, just for his name on em.
