Here's the auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ERNIE-BALL-MUSICMAN-BONGO-4-STRING-BASS-LAVA-PEARL_W0QQitemZ7372692449QQcategoryZ4713QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Question/comment is, why would the seller set up their auction with a nice BIN like this on had (850), and then not do something that would prevent someone from bidding 99 cents which then cancels out the BIN?

Not really sure how to do it, other than setting a reserve, which I understand adds to the price of the auction, but then there's no safeguard against a low ending price and losing out on some green stuff.

Dunno, just saw the BIN on the list of auctions, and then when I went into the auction, it wasn't there anymore and there was one bid for 99 cents.

Not like I was gonna BIN, I was just wondering :D

PS. Oh yeah, check the description, mentions BP and the forums :D

thats cool...thats my auction....i sell tons of stuff on ebay and ive noticed that items get alot more action when you start the bidding low....im pretty confident that it wont go below 700-750....which is fine with me....plus its cheaper, it only costs .25 to list something starting out at .99 or lower, versus paying 6.00 to start it out at 700.00....make any sense?

Hey kdsi44, that is a nice bass!
I cannot help noticing this in your ad: "I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THIS AT CHURCH, SO IT IS SETUP AND HAS NEW ERNIE BALL STRINGS!"
Probably just me, but I find that sentence hilarious:)
I, too, want to play at your church if it means my bass will automatically be set up and get new strings.;)

Good luck vith your auction

oh yeah, I totally get where you're coming from. I guess I'm too wary of the aforementioned 'snipe', which I have been a party to myself on more than one occasion :D.
