Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I sold the StingRay since it dwarfed me and have been watching out ever since for a Sterling. MM is the sound I crave. I have been playing my beat up Ib*n*z, which I have had since I was 16 until I get a Sterling. The thing is an '81 and I was the third owner. I want to retire it..... it is probably worth $18 by now, yea eighteen bucks. Pretty sad. I shouldn't slam it too hard. I was doing a little slap and pop on it in church just this morning and it sounded tight...... but it didn't sound like a MM.

What year did the Sterling bass come out?

Is this a sparkle finish or just a bit of metal flake. If I hadn't bid on a white sterling, I would jump on this. My requirements are Sterling, rosewood, sparkle.
BTW, I'd say this is Blue Dawn (I think) which is a sparkle finish.

Really hope you can find one soon - you'll have to let me know how you get on with it as far as neck width and weight goes - need the fellow female opinion! :)

Are you playing a MM now? If so then which one. I will certainly tell you how the Sterling is for me. I am 5'2" and it may still be a little weighty (the weight is close to a SR) for my small frame but I will play rock it anyway.

I don't have one yet - currently play a Shine bass (this is where you call go, "who", but they make basses for certain other well known companies and this is their own brand :) )

Hopefully will be getting one towards the end of the year as the saving has started.

It's nice to see you back :)

Ahhhhh man.... that blue dawn is to die for!!! (drooling...)
Thank God I have a S.O. to make me feel guilty about spending my money on
bass guitars, otherwise I would jump on that one!
But... as she would say: what do I need THAT one for?

I knew as soon as I bid on the white sparkle Sterling that another Sterling would show up but I had to do an early bid to make the "buy it now" option dissappear so no one else would slip in and grab it.

If I had that blue dawn I would put a clear pickguard on and let the sparkles shine.

Azzy Wazzy you are saving up for a worthy cause and may I commend you for saving up and not going in debt for a bass.

Hear Ghore .. thanks for the pics of black pup with white scratchies . . now I'm wondering . . white pearloid would look nice after all . . .

LisaIs .. the bass for sale isn't mine . . I just have a similar one .. .so no need for 'jerky' feelings.

The avatar pic is actually fretted - before I put the fretless neck on.
The pics don't really show the color as I see it when I open the case.

I want a see-thru pickguard now . . .
