if you contact Ernie Ball they should be able to tell you where one is...

I know that EB can do this, obviously, but I'm just curious. How do they go about it? Does someone from CS just go around calling places who have received just such a bass? That's fantastic, if so. Amazing, if you think about it. EB is doing the legwork for us. This is on top of whatever else they have to do in the normal course of business. I don't know. It's like a special favor. Thanks, EBMM! :D

They won't do the leg work for you... but they will tell you where they are still showing inventory available. Some dealers are FAR better at keeping up on this than others.

Hey guys just wanted to suggest supporting an indie dealer first before
schlepping off to a GC. (I don't have the bass you're looking for so I am not trying to get a sale).
But the small indie is more appreciative of your business.

Consider buying from GC as your last resort. Just my $.02

Well I called and they had it!! The exact one I described! I thought it was a stingray5 that I mistook for a 4 or something. Its like 8 bucks more than the standard stingrays. It sounded good but the strings were a little too high and the strings just felt stiff. I played a jazz after and the playablitiy put it to shame.. But I still want it! It would look hot paired up with a Goldline Gk 8x10 :D. But nah I tried the 8x10.. WAYY to bright. The Ampeg SVT Cl was sold out so I tried it on a Mesa amp and it was perfect.

Anyways, im happy I found it and I don't want to buy it from guitar center but I feel bad for the hundreds of times I just walk in to play stuff and leave never buying a thing. I don't dig the look of the HH's. Too much pickup. The HS looks good and seems like it would sound good because of the pickup placement. But when flipping the pickup selector the diffrences were... Alot?

I didn't know exactly what the settings did but when pushed all the way towards the bridge [normal humbucker?] It sounded totally diffrent from position 2. 2 had was less bass. My favorite for smooth stuff was 4 or the one past the middle. Im wondering if it would sound better if it had a new pickgaurd to allow the dummy coil to be equal to the other two? But I like the way it looks with one single. Does adjustment of the dummy coil affect anything?

FYI Posting dealer prices on new instruments is a no no around here.
