Been modifying and building my own basses since '78, and I can't stop. Whether it's one I have built from scratch, or a factory model, I end up radically altering it. I have finally decided to leave well enough alone......I'm very happy with my Bongo 5, and can hardly wait to get home from work, to play it. All I can say is, it just fits me........Sleek, sexy, punchy, full of wonderful tones and pleasant to look at; I haven't been this excited about a bass in a long time. Next month, it goes into the studio, and I'm anxious to hear what it sounds like with stainless rounds on it (I'm mostly a "flats" user). The only mod I will perform, is to install a new set of EB strap locks....can't wait. Forgive me for gushing, I had to get this off my chest. My hat's off to EB for producing a wonderful product; now, if I can just convince my wife to buy me a Bongo HS4, for my 49th!

The Sterling HH fits me the same way - it's like they designed it specially for me.

Congrats on finding a bass you can use straight from the factory!

What if you put a Lamborghini engine in a Yugo? Just sayin'....it could be cool. Some dipstick pulls up with his Corvette and acts all bad and you dust him with yer lil' Yugo! HA!

where can you get great deals ?

adelucia was selling his a few months ago but i was strapped for cash (man it is gorgeous)

my guitarist runs a local music store (and webshop), the great deals being that he gets a better price from strings and things than we would.. if you ever need ANYTHING, PM me and i always help if I can!

cheers

phat5...

You remind me of myself. Before I discovered the Bongo I did the same...mod, tweak, rip out electronics and pickups and replace them, looking for "the" tone.

Thought I was doing pretty well, too, until I borrowed a Bongo.

Game over.

The only thing I GAS for any more is another Music Man bass.

"GAME OVER"....I like that! I have plans to build 3 additional basses for myself; don't feel like pursuing it at the moment. Although I have to get back to my eub I started last summer.
