Was about to pull the trigger on a Ray34, but picked up a Ray35 righty for sh*ts and grins. Why do they get all the good stuff? Saw a gorgeous Honeyburst Ray35 righty - can I please, please, please get one in lefty?????? OK fine, I'll even take one in Black if I have to!!!

Feels great to be a member of the kingdom! So what do you think - should I get the Ray34 or hold out hope for the 35? Went to Chuck Levins here in the DC area and played a 4-string Sterling, 4-string Ray and 5-string Ray. Loved both of the Rays, but they were a little pricey. Said that they can order the Ray34 for me if I wanted. I want a Musicman!!!

Seriously, nothing against the RAY34, but there is something just so satisfying to have "the real thing". I am a lefty as well and my SR5 is still my number one bass. I could be happy with any lefty EBMM but unless you have no other option then to order an import version, try and hold out for a top o the line Stingray. Nothing else like it!

OK, just did it - placed the order with Chuck Levins / Washington Music Center for my new EBMM SR4 Stingray! Sales guy said to expect a three month wait, but I'm sure it will be worth it. I am now truly a member of the Kingdom!

That's exciting news! What color did you go for? You will not be disappointed and although its a long wait, to get the exact bass you want is a rare thing for us leftys!

I love the classic Stingray look, so I went with the Vintage Sunburst, black pickguard and maple neck (single pick-up). I debated on the matching headstock, but decided to keep it simple (and maple). Can't wait!!!

Very wise choice! A stingray in that color combination is something you will keep forever. Other bases with other gimics will come (and go) but I'm sure that one will stay. :D

That will be a gorgeous bass! I recently acquired my first maple fingerboard Stingray and am really liking it a lot. Its quite different to play on then my rosewood board basses and the maple adds its own character to the tone and feel.

Man - they are gorgeous! Now I'm really dying waiting having to wait three months! Although there is this really nice white / white headstock SR5 lefty at Chucks that I've been dreaming of...

And here is my other SR5 and Bongo 5. Its becoming quite a collection but I really have no desire to play any thing other then an Ernie Ball bass.
