Help! Lemon oil and maple neck

Hi folks!
Recently I've bought a bottle of lemon oil and I'm wondering if I can use it to clean the maple neck of my Y2D. It says "not for use on maple fretboards", but, according to the FAQ: "To clean the neck, use a high-grade of lemon oil.".
I'm confused, what do you guys think?

You've seen the faqs. I use Murphy's Oil Soap, then the Birchwood Casey treatment. Not sure what is available in the EU, maybe others can chime in. I personally don't care for lemon oil.

I could be wrong, But I think the confusion is that you can use lemon oil on Untreated Maple necks. The Confusion part is that your not supposed to use lemon oil on Laqured Necks. It could harm the Laqured finish.

I use lemon oil for cleaning my maple fretboard, for the back I use the EBMM products (gunstock oil and wax). Very good results, so I think lemon oil is a good choice for the fretboard (non laquered).

Use Naptha (lighter Fluid) to clean a maple (or rosewood fingerboard), as well as the back of the neck. Its actually safe to use on the body to remove grime that a little soap & water on a cloth won't pick up. On maple fingerboards, I follow up with a coat of Turtle Wax, and some good ol Gibson guitar polish on the back of the neck. Buff with a microfiber cloth.

Yep, naphtha is great stuff for cleaning guitars. I use linseed oil on fretboards after cleaning, but I'm not sure if that would be ok for the back of the neck.

You´re right that´s it. Lemon oil will work with unfinished maple but not with finished

You can also use the EB wonder wipes! I used it the other day on the rosewood fretboard and also on the back of the neck. Have no issues and its nice and smooth.

Yep as already stated it is fine to use just not on a maple neck with a finish.
