It got a little hairy at the end...the LE's and 30th you put your sack on the line, I hope that you get the support you need.

I make my living by putting my sack on the line every day BP.

Only a few get it and GC and Steve and Jack are some of the only people outside of EB hat get the info

It's great info too and much appreciated but I've yet to order any black (other than LE's) or natural basses for inventory even though the stats show that they'd sell in a heartbeat. I just like to order up stuff that's different is all. You guys have so many options it's not funny and I like to mix it up and put some different combinations out in circulation...it just makes it more fun for me I guess.

If I wanted a "job" I'd go get one....I just turned down a very good one this week as a matter of fact.

Yup and it's one niche I will happily fill until people realize they can also custom order anything they want from the larger retailers as well.

Steve ~ that's an area you might not need to worry about.

I'm sure that a lot of people (here and outside) like myself prefer to do business with the little guys (eg: you and Jack), and as long as you are in business, and I'm a Music Man supporter, I'll continue to order my custom jobbies through you.

There's a definite "family bond" and sense of security in dealing with the "mom and pop" type businesses.

YMMV.

Jack...As i have said many times if I ran this company exclusively on die hards I would make martini olive green basses with flats standard. I would also be asking you if you wanted fries with it.

Yup, I get it.

You guys are very important but need to realize that you are in the top 5% and the other 95% may want something different than you do.

I'm not entirely convinced we're all that important in the overall scheme of things, but we are sometimes vaguely amusing.

Steve and I disagree on a lot here, but....wait, I don't want to agree with him! Did I almost fall into a trap or something?

It is pretty interesting to watch how this thread has migrated and mutated. Just when I think I have a handle on things... right turn.

From the consumer p.o.v., it is always interesting to get insight into the working of the builder and the retailer. To that end this thread has done that. I think the green would be a great addition, but I know exactly where BP is coming from... and I understand why it ISN'T out there. But I also see Steve's side. When I was shopping for the new Bongo it was amazing just how many duplicate Bongo's were out there (and almost all HH's some HS's and only a few H's). Of those, most fit the "normal" realm of convention (Graphite, Saphire and E Smoke), there were of the other colors but those 3 were what I kept coming up with on a regular basis (and I literally contacted over 35 stores before I got smart enough to email CS to get a breakdown of where the single H's were). Are they great basses... yes, but I guess I am one of the few BP was talking about that wanted something "different." Thus I turned to Steve and Jack (and got... a BLACK Bongo :) ).

Point... no point, but I see both sides and "think" I understand them both... just $.02

I'm not too sure Karen would approve of my "sponsoring" an attractive young woman such as yourself Tiffie.

Been there, done that for 20 years...old careers are like old girlfriends or wives...you just can't go back....plus that whole "shaving" thing just didn't sit right with me.

I hear ya... Hoping in 13-15 years I can hang it all up for the music...

Sounds like a long time, but I expect it will fly by! :)

i like this thread.

i totally get how sparkles didnt sell (100% makes sense) but what confuses me is the market demand for desert gold seems pretty high (since I see a lot of Bongos in that color) but green flopped. honestly i would have assumed green was a "safer" or more accepted color than DG.

You know Red is always going to be popular, but I would have thought that a good, deep green would be more popular than DG or even M Gold (love that one to but most people I show it too think it is TOO bright).

Come to think of it I actually do get more compliments on Kermit than I did with my other two basses (DG and RRed)
