Lets Get Ernie Ball In Hall Of Fame

I have to say that before I played an AL about 1.5 years ago I didn´t really know anything about Ernie Ball. I had heard the name, and seen the products etc., but not any more than that. I guess that might be part of the problem, for many Ernie Ball is a company that has always been there, but before I came here and bought an AL it was like an institution that you know was famous but didn´t have any real details on.

Saying that, what a great history and story it is when you start to get details! And all the more impressive is that his son is extending the legacy in a meaningful way.

The RRHOF has a "non performer" section that inducts every year...Leo Fender is there...not sure how many other product type people. It would be great to see BP accept the award!!

i agree with u all.....

BP, maybe u or someone at ernie ball can make up some kind of official EBMM petition and post on here for us to download. I live in ny and would def hit all of the guitar centers, sam ashs', etc. Plus get all my buddies. I have a few friends that know some pretty succesful artists that i'm sure would sign off on this.

Anything u need that i can help out with feel free to ask =D

I don't even know if Canadians have any say in the rock and roll hall of fame, but if so, I'll gladly kick ass and take names for this cause.

I remember reading this and something a bit close to this when I found out he'd passed away.

I am a nobody but I was a great admirier of Ernie's work and innovation, if there's anything that I can do to assist, consider it done.


In 1958, Mr. Ball opened a shop in Tarzana that, uniquely, sold only guitars.

''Sales reps would come in and say, 'Ern, you've got to sell clarinet reeds, drum sticks, valve oil, blah blah blah," ' Mr. Ball once recalled
. ''And I'd tell them, 'I just want to sell guitars.' "

In 1962, complaints from customers that they couldn't find lighter-gauge, flexible strings for their rock 'n' roll instruments prompted Mr. Ball to produce and sell sets of strings he called Slinkys."

Having visited the RRHOF museum in Cleveland, and seen TLC and Britney Spears stage costumes in there, it seems that they have some what distilled what I call 'rock and roll'! But I think Mr Ball should be inducted. Anything I can do, just let us know!

Ok, I think BP's got a great idea here. So, I did a little bit of research and found out we'd need to do a write in campaign.

To suggest that a particular person be considered for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, please write a letter to:

Another way would be to start an online petition. There is currently one for Alice Cooper.
