There’s really no hurry on this since I am not getting my y2d till later, but still when I go to a music store I can’t find anything I even want. The EBMM guitars I have are nicer than anything they have. So when BP did say they were going to do an anniversary model for the Silhouette I got GAS in a major way. When I asked what they might do for the anniversary model Silhouette (nothing to carve in stone mind you but just some ideas), BP said he was considering solid rosewood. Again, since nothing is carved in stone at this point, I thought this might be a good place to discuss ideas on what you (the forum members) would like to see for this special model. Presented in a respectful manner of course.

I also look forward to hearing from BP, Dudley and Jon Smith on what they would like to see.

Most of you should be knowledgeable enough to know about the manufacturing process to know what is and is not possible. As this will certainly be a limited run, I would think that retooling will be kept to a minimum. Let’s try to do this one more time so that BP doesn’t race to the parking lot to lick asphalt.

Other than the brilliance the Dudley comes up with I would like the piezo tremolo to be an available option.

For anniversary specials I'd like to see Silos with:
- Colors that aren't currently available on them (i.e. Sparkles or Mystic Dream)
- Solid rosewood IS a good idea
- ebony fretboards

...yes, 1:15 in the afternoon, and NorM is posting away on the forums, instead of that whole government related work, etc.

Ladies and gentlemen, your tax dollars hard at work (if you can even USE that phrase here!)

I guess I'll be hearing from you tonight, NorM...? :D

That is so weird !
Just yesterday I was wondering if there was going to be an Anniversary Silo.
I heard some small mention of the idea. But that is all. Last night while surfing the net, I saw a rosewood strat style guitar, thought about the Axis and thought a Rosewood Silo would br awesome!!!!

I'd buy that! But I'm not waiting! That could be my second EBMM! ;)

I think a Silo with solid rosewood neck would be cool whatever the colour.

Personally I liked the translucent colours on Ash bodies - esp Blue but I'm sure I could be persuaded to buy a different colour!

candles, or better yet, little flames as fret markers would be cool

the more i think about it the more kik ass that sounds to me - everyone loves flames!!!!

it is an anniverssry after all so i think candle-flame fret markers would be more than fitting

an all-rosewood silo would be cool, like those really expensive hand made basses:
rosewood body
rosewood bridge with piezo
1 piece rosewood neck
rosewood pickguard
2 humbuckers with rosewood cover & rosewood mounting rings
etc

Since the rosewood axis has been done I'd rather see something different if they're thinking along those lines.

Rosewood neck? You betcha.

Paint? Hmmm... I'd love for them to go back to the sparkle burst one more time ala Blue Dawn and Burnt Apple, but do it in green.

Other than that, bring it on Dudley and BP, I'm sure whatever it is, it will be worth it and I'll end up getting one. I can guarantee that.

How about:

1) BP and/or Dudley's signature on the headstock ala a signature model? Or perhaps somewhere on the body if the head is not large enough.

2) Some type of EBMM logo as an inlay on the fretboard.

How about a toally bare fretboard except for the stylized "EB" at the 12th fret? I always did like the dotless look.

Plus when i go to play my Strat now I'm like, "holy damn these dots are huge!!!" :D

im sure whatever those guys cook up will be amazing.

I wonder what Vinnie Moore thinks ... That would be some cool info to know; he is after all "the best silo player in the world" as pops said at open house :)

And his performance that night certainly proved it!

Glad I had a good seat!

I'm all for the RW neck. A rosewood body can be HEAVY (check out a Rosewood Telecaster-leave the body wood alone.

IMO Sparkles and mystic dream don't really fit the personality of a rosewood neck-a more subtle color would make more sense to me.

How about bringing back Trans White (Mary Kaye)? Great look with the rosewood and a tortoise guard. I know it's not that far off the Buttercream, but it's a classic, timeless finish. It would look a lot like the RW Bongo everybody flipped over at the open house.

A silo special SSS piezo in trans white/tortoise guard/rw neck would kill.
