Gotta say I really like the gold swirl guard on the olive gold bongo!
I hope Beaver doesn't mind if I link to his site:

Don't mind looking, myself...I've got a 2+ month wait ahead of me.

No prob. I was up your way tuesday...almost called so I could get my grubby hands on that new MM of yours.![]()
...and thanks for the all too kind words, bro.![]()
Well, I've had great success special ordering Music Man basses from Bass Central in the past...both are keepers...and I'm ready to order a 3rd.
Here's what I've already got-

'Ray 4 fretless w/piezo bridge & 'Ray 5.
This time, I'm thinking Bongo 6 string, fretless, HS p/up config in Olive Gold w/antique white pearl p/g.
On the right track???![]()
Yep! And I see you have! Plays like a dream and not as heavy as it looks
BTW am I speaking to the same T Alan from the Harmony central Bass Forum?
Ah ha! Great to catch you again man!! Things are cool over here in a post-meltdown major-recession kind of way
I'm afraid I couldn't keep up with HCBF too many posts I couldn't track it all and dropped off a while back. I've popped in a few times and there's some folks I remember but no-one knows who I am there now which may be a blessing. One of the funniest places I've ever hung around though, used to have me laughing my sides off.
Still, the natives are relatively peaceful in this place under the benign leadership of BP so everyone behaves themselves and the basses are cool too but I see you know that already.
I moved to NJ for about 3 years but was so crazy busy I didn't get to post anywhere but I did get to play some nice basses![]()
Sorry to hijack your thread I'm a bit jealous you're getting a B6er as I agonised over one for a year or more but went for a B4H which is butt-kickingly raunchy. My good swedish forum buddy strummer has loaned me a B5er to keep me going in the meantime and the B6 remains on the must-get list in the future.
You are obligated to post a lot of pics when she arrives btw
How's things with you? I'm interested in your looping experience, thought it must be neat but never tried one
The bongo 6 is worth buying a seat to play it from if you have a bad back.
There isn't another 6er out there that will hang with it IMHO.
Of course my income is minimal from playing.
But my opinion is solid and unchangeable.
I sent it on walkabout a bit and missed it every minute it was gone.
Back home now and getting played.
Not one person that has heard it that doesn't say it is a really good sounding bass.
I play flats on everything and even with them it will tear the heads off the crowd if I want it to.

My herniated disk and resulting sciatica has kept me down for much of the past year. But I won't go on about that.
I still lurk at HCBF, but over the years, it just got weirder and weirder to me, so I'm taking a bit of a break from posting. Amazing how much I'm getting done at work. That said, there are just too many that I consider family(like you- sheesh, we've known each other for years now) and will begin posting sometime in the future.
As for the looper, I'm only using an Akai Headrush, which happens to be a cool as hell delay, so grab one and give it a shot.![]()
This place seems quite cool, and it's slower pace is a nice change. In the meantime, I'm already meeting quite a few cool people here.
By the way, did you ever do that version of "The Flood" in your church?
