What would you guys/gals like to see for our next Limited Edition? What finishes would you like to see? (excluding Blue Dawn or any discontinued color)
Thanks,
Scott

I'm gonna go with the "Yellow Submarine" , a nice deep Lambourghini/Ferrari Canary yellow with the bit of sparklr that's in the Desert Gold finish. This way EBMM will have the whole traffic light theme nailed: Radiance RED, YELLOW Submarine, Envy GREEN ..... I do think it would look rather sweet if it is a rich enough canary yellow.

PS mark me down for a fretless H/SC/Piezo Bongo5 in Yellow Submarine ASAP!!!!!!! :D

a.k.a Hummer Yellow..........

Also when is the next limited edition due out?

Is this an on going thing?

Is MM looking at as an example 2 limited editions every year?

Seriously - How about some tasteful qulited or flamed tops?

Maybe not to the extent of figured maple tops, but I really like translucent finishes on Stingrays.

I'd like to see a Bongo with this sort of finish. Perhaps translucent teal.

The weight of the electronics is apparently what prohibits this... surely a single H ash bongo wouldn't be that much heavier than a stingray???

grain of wood was never a factor on old J Bass sunbursts, look at Jaco's, so i think a 3 colour vintage burst on a bongo with tort p/g would be amazing even with the (I'm assuming here) Alder like grain of Basswood(which would be a fairly non-existent grain) . C'mon Jon.....Derek............??? Sterling????? give us a Bongo Burst pleeeeeeeease , we promise to buy the entire run....... :D

I don't know... I think a sunburst Bongo would be, well... ugly. The body shape of the Bongo doesn't "go" with the whole sunburst theme IMHO.

Purple metal-flake would be awesome. I would like a purple bongo.

I also love those bronze-finished bass you made a few of with the bronze pickguards---I think those are the coolest basses MM has ever made.

I agree with doing away with the SR5 monster pickguard. EBMM finishes are far too nice to cover up with all that plastic. Intead of a metal control plate, I would like to see it back-routed and with a small oval guard, like a Sterling. That would probably cut down on the weight too.

I think it'd be interesting to see something designed. Like the Bovine bass, or a black and white zebra, or a black and yellow Bee, that sort of deal. I'm pretty happy with everything already offered so that's the best I've got for now. Unless you want to just plain make them all heavier. Not exotic woods, just heavy.

After thinking I suggest a bongo that has all but the place to mount the pickups cut out clean. Give a real good toilet seat look to it. I think it would be the one I would buy just so I could get on those folks nerves that call it that already.
