As someone noticed in another topic, the Bongos have a "limited edition" mention on the neck plate.
What does it exactly mean ?

I've got a 2004 limited edition stingray (radiance red). It has limited edition printed on the neckplate along with the serial number etc. (The neckplate is located where the neck joins the body on the back of the guitar) I presume its the same for the bongo limited edition.

Bongos per se do not have limited edition neck plates.

Some of the colours (radiance red, envy green) are released in limited quantities. These have a limited edition neck plate.

Bassmonkee has a white bongo with a limited edition plate. This was a factory accident.

Extra! Extra!

Yeah, as I recall some of the limited edition plates got mixed in with regular Bongos. So although your bass may not be limited edition, at least you can take pride in the fact that there won't be many more like it! : ;) :D

I just received my new white Bongo 4 HH from Bass Central yesterday and it has a 'Limited Edition' neck plate as well. Pretty cool regardless of how it got there.

So this means some of us have limited editions that should not be ones, because of a mix in the plates ?
This could be aded to the sticky topic about serial numbers, to draw up a list of the unvoluntary limited edition basses.

I'm starting to think that they put the L.E. plates on those last white basses becuase they knew they were not going to offer them anymore. Maybe that's not the case but I think it's very possible.

Nope, that's not the case. I asked Jon that very question, and his response was, "No, someone didn't do a good job of getting all of the ltd ed plates out of the box when they accidentally put them in there."

well in any case, if those are the only two white Bongos they are very limited and i think they deserve the neck plates in question.

They aren't the only two. I think there were 7-8 in the last batch alone. I don't think Scott wanted the hassle of matching the whites more than once. :D

I had a fretted version of my bass that is currently available at the Atlanta GC with a pinhead sized ding on the back courtesy of Yours Truly , and Bass Central has had at least three others that gave me the GAS to get white in the first place. So, my conservative guess is less than 25 white Bongos are in existence. But, I could be way off base/bass. :D

I would imagine that I have the only fretless white Bongo that will exist, though. Unless there was someone else who ordered one in the last 6 months besides me.

How about a white with a natural neck? My SR 5 doesn't have a painted neck so why does the Bongo need one? White is a killer color for any bass IMHO and EB should have a white Bongo for all of us if we want one.
