I just bought a Peavey JSX Combo two weeks ago and absolutely love it. My first impressions have been that this may be the best amp I've ever owned. It's one of the few amps that sounds excellent at low volumes. I crank the individual overdrive channel volumes and set the Master at a whisper and it roars at a low, managable volume. I have owned a 5150 combo, Transformer 112, Cyber-twin, Mesa F-100, and tried a Carvin Legacy, but this amp smokes them IMHO. For the price, it has excellent features, build quality, flexability/versatility and tone. Its hard to find a competing model. I havn't tried the 60 watt setting, but it will only cut it down about 3 dbs. The amp is of moderate size, the tubes are well protected, and the weight isn't too bad (82 lbs). Just get a cart for easy transport. Consider the combo because it has Joe's new JSX speakers that he fine tuned for use with this head. My JP7 sounds awesome through it.
