Long time no post..... I recently found "the one" (I can post about it later) so I've been selling off all my extra parts, basses and restoration projects. What I have left is a lined fretless SR4 neck in birdseye. I'm on the fence on selling it or keeping it, what would be a fair price for it? Thanks in advance for your input gentlemen.

I think it would depend on some details:

- Was this a factory neck, or a custom modification?
- If custom, who did the work?
- What's the condition of the neck?
- Are SR necks universal across SR bodies?

Maybe ask over on TalkBass as well, as between the two forums you'd probably gather some interest, and valuation would likely vary widely by the individual.

I'd love to get a lined fretless neck, but I'd tend to want something more "matching" to my newer StingRay Special 4. I did notice that Music Man offers a lined fretless option if using the "design your own" feature of their website - though obviously, they'd never sell just the neck alone, so minimum cost is around $2600.

All the 6-bolt SR4 necks are swappable, altho you hafta be a bit handy with the shimming. Ive swapped a few myself. Shimming is tedious, but its not rocket science.

4-bolt and 6-bolt are inter-swappable as to the neck socket, but you hafta deal with some fairly minor wood working concerning differences in truss rod access and the hole patterns.
