That's one uglyass pickguard.

The neck is likely a former fretted neck that has been defretted, and the lines are where the fret slots were filled with filler.

That crossed my mind aswell.

Rumor Has It

I once heard that guys who worked too long in autopaint shops without proper ventilation landed up on LTD claims with brain damage and insurance adjusters got early retirement / work packages for them at guitar wrecking yards /Rayan
