This is way off topic, but...

Anyone here know of such a device?

We're looking into barcode scanners that have a display and can either telnet or ssh over wifi or bluetooth for use in the factory. Preferably wifi.

We have a similar device in coachella running Palm OS. It works well but has been discontinued. Newer models use Windows CE and that's a no-no in ebmm land :p

So if anyone knows of a such a device, please let me know.

Thanks

Aaron

I will ask the IT guys here in the port of Tilbury what system they use, they have these wireless scanners that read barcode labels for any container, vehicle or even bundle of timber that is loaded on my ship and it is connected in real time with their software database within a mile reach from the quayside to the port office. Wait...

a few minutes later...

I have just temporarily k.o.'d one of this guys (he' ll live, don't worry) and snapped one off their hands to show you what it looks like, here it is...

I'll let you know tomorrow when their IT boys are on duty what software they use.

Cheers
