Hey my peoples,

I was cleaning the fretboard of my stingray recently and when I removed the strings I found the the first three frets on the E string had pretty notice able wear long with the 1 and 2nd fret on the A string. Im not sure if its is from me but mostlikely the previous owner, I don't useually play too much down there. Anyways I was just wondering how long frets usually last and how big of a deal is it [recrowning ect] to replace them. It just seems like it'll be a nightmare to get done, does ernie ball redo them?

Also any diffrence in wear between a .100 gauge and .105 gauge string? I was just wondering if maby it had to due with the smaller me and the previous owner have been useing..

K, another thing is, does super low action or low action do damage to frets? I like my strings to buzz when I dig in and think this might affect the frets infront of it.

Another reason I asked if gauge mattered was becase I have a a few marks around the E where the string has marked the wood and I wanted to know why this happened? I use standard tuneing and super slinkies.

sounds like normal wear no matter what guage...my between the nut and my 4th or 5th fret i have wear on the fret board. My bass still plays great so I don't worry about it especially since you can't really see the marks with the stings on the bass...I use 105 guage strings
