1. Name a bass cabinet with a tweeter from any manufacturer that doesn't sound hissy.

2. Give me a good reason for any bass cabinet to come with a tweeter.

1. Bergantino, Epifani, Other Markbass cabs to name three. I haven't had a hissy tweeter in any of the cabs I have owned and I have almost had as many as Travis.

2. My preferred sound is starting to lean that way at the moment, but I don't mind them really.

I have heard these points before.
But I maintain that it's better to have too much of something with the ability to cut it back than have the ability to boost something that isn't available...

I think in most live contexts the advantage of the high end by far outweigh any aspect of "hiss"... you hear the high end in the bass tone but the hiss disappears in context. Again, better to tame it when you need to instead of get rid of it altogether. Using the VLE and/or the high EQ control, and/or the tone controls on your bass, gives you lots of musical solutions.

Cheers,
Peter

Thanks for your input Peter, I agree with you for the most part. Maybe what I really don't like is the piezo tweeter in the combos, because when I play the regular Markbass cabs with the compression driver, I find them to be much more pleasent in this regard.

Had to bring this out again...

Great Job anthony

YOu know that wouldnt be a bad option for Mark Bass to offer the ability to modularly use the LM2

...As far as making the head removable for the combo is concerned, I don't think this really makes sense. If this flexibility is important to you, you should get a Little Mark II and cabinet as separate pieces...

Just came across a full page add in Bass Player magazine for a Mesa WalkAbout Scout Bass Combo and stared at it for quite a while while thinking all along...

THEY STOLE OUR IDEA!!!

I knew we were on to something!

Peter - you may want to give this one some more thought! ;)

Hey Anthony, that's a really nice piece. I have a Kickback 15 that would be greatly improved with a mod like. I also like the tilt feature for practice and would have probably bought a MB 210 combo for my gigs if I hadn't left the band last month.

I've got a Mesa Walkabout Scout combo and it's an incredible amp. I absolutely love it.
