On Friday night we played at the second annual Oldsmar Freedom Fest in Oldsmar, Florida. We were honored to be asked back after having played the first one last year.

We were the headliner on Friday night and played for about 5,000 people.

The show always begins with the sponsors singing "The Star Spangled Banner."

America is great!

The Dreamsicle

Looks like the ladies were coming from or going to The Sex In The City movie.

Cool pics - you've got a lot of stage presence.

The large majority of the audience members were "big-wigs" and coaching staff from the Florida Gators. The club we were playing at is called "Gators" and is located in Treasure Island, Florida. Gators has the distinction of being called, "The world's longest waterfront bar."

But length isn't everything.

That is a very cool looking bass. No wonder the chics dig you!

I don't think SOMB need a bass for chics to dig him. He is a born chic magnet. Mrs. SOMB is one cool lady! Oh yeah the bass looks great.

I sure am glad I let him take my bass last night so that he can think of only me while he plays it!

The first one looks like I have backwards arms growing out of my shoulder blades.

These pics really show how beautiful Orange Firemist is; great stage color!
Agreed, Orange Firemist is a great colour. Was really happy to get one, myself.

I noticed in the "backwards arms" photo, you've got what looks like a wireless transmitter jacked straight into the Bongo. Which wireless system do you use, and how much does it affect your tone?

Good eye, CAW!

It's a Samson "Airline" Wireless System which only cost $300. I like it because there is only a "plug" that goes directly into the input jack of the bass. The receiver is an on-the-floor stomp box type of design and it is the first thing in my signal chain. It sounds surprisingly good considering its relatively low cost. Depending on the venue, I use either it or a cable and I don't notice any signal degradation when using the wireless.
