Strings & Things had a nice booth with some of the new EBMM releases. A couple of the neck-throughs, I tried a SR5, very nice!

Also the cobalt flatwounds. They felt smooth and crisp but the set they had on wasn't my gauge. Will definitely give them a go though once they're available over here.

I liked the new MusicMan 115 B250 combo amp. It's quite light but has a lot of punch and power. (It was difficult to try things out properly because of the constant noise inferno in the hall.)

Highlights (for me) were a couple of museum pieces S&T brought from their vault to the show. The blue 20th Anniversary SR5, serial number 50007, looked stunning!

And then there was Stingray B001002. 1976, natural, radio knobs, excellent condition. I had a little noodle, felt great, lovely neck, and not a heavy bass either!

Wow those vault basses are nice. I'm a bit miffed I couldn't get there - had a gig tonight and one tomorrow afternoon.

How did you think the NT SR5 compared to a regular one?

It really was too noisy to make any sound judgments. Unfortunately, S&T have their booth in the main hall this year and not, like they used to, in the foyer where it's a bit quieter.

The neck-through SR5 looks very slick (I think the colour of this one was Sapphire Black), neck feels great but then again I prefer the lacquered ones anyway. It was a nice weight, too.
