So I bought some strings online, checked my order. Stated I wanted Medium Long Scale. I ended up getting Medium X-Long Scale. Can I use these on my Dargie HH Sterling? Or am I stuck sending these back and waiting longer for my strings?

Not 100% sure, but my guess would be that they will work. I think the only difference between Long and X-Long is 1". I would be careful while winding the E-string around the tuning post. It may be thicker there than the Long scale E-string would be.

One of the things I like about shopping live at my local L & M is that I can make my own picking errors and I can do it right while I'm still there saving me the time and aggravation of another trip to get it right the second time;)often times, an alert clerk will double check that I'm getting what I wanted in the first place:)
People serving people is best, online ordering is screwed:rolleyes:

So it's All right to use them?

They are okay to use, only like mynan said be wary of how thick the string is at the post as that may give you trouble, especially on the larger strings.

The ONLY difference between long scale and extra long scale is length. While another site mentions a change in tension, that's only because of the scale used.

You will be fine. Just don't let the "girth" near the "post" give you any trouble. The reasons our "Balls" use just "long" scale is because we try not to brag.

PS. Those quotations just seemed like they were necessary.
