You wouldnt believe how many times ive seen people do this especially on guitars. The last two I worked on, a strat and a 66 jazz master had all of there strings wound in the wrong direction. I had to reset the nut on the jazzmaster because the strings had been on it so long that they had pulled the nut out of the slot.

So, he put a left handed G string on a right handed instrument. What a maroon. Maybe he thought it was one of those Fender Bongos....
