Completed a trade with James Hill - my S*dowsky Metro MV4 (plus a few$) for these. What do you think?

I am happy, and I am sure James will be too.

I've tried the Sterling, Stingray, and Bongo. They all sound great, the Bongo being at the top as far as tone. I respect everyones love for the EBMM line and they are great basses, just not for me. Jack, I hope there aren't any hard feelings because I would like to continue doing buisness with you and Steve.

If I were James, I'd be off in a corner somewhere, desperately trying to kick myself in the ass.

Go easy on him - he got a great bass in the trade.

And I now have more EBMM basses that I thought I ever would.

If you all saw my thread about how heavy I thought the Bongo 5 HS I had for a short time was - this Bongo 4 is at the other end of the scale. Very light - very comfortable. The SR will take a bit of time to get used to - very big body IMO.

Don't even think about it! A good customer is a good customer and I value our relationship.

I mean, you are of course completely out of your damned mind, but you're not alone.

:D

You'll have to replace those someday.....I'll be right here!

For those who don't know me - I am firmly committed to the 'play what floats your boat' outlook.

Everybody's happy!

Jack

Heh--why would they have any hard feelings? They've already got your money, and I'm sure they'll be happy to take it again in the future. :D

Play what makes you happy. It's as simple as that.

Except bassmonkeee who just wasted time writing the same damn thing only to be a minute later than the horse with the mouth (and the typing fingers).

Well, being the owner of an MV4 and a Stingray.... I'll say that James came out with a great bass too. That being said..... I'd have done that trade in a heartbeat:eek: Congrats to both of you:cool:

Yeah - I still have a UV-70 4 for those times when nothing other than a jazz bass will do!!

Balls for the rest of the time!!!!

One from each coast;) Cool. Funny, I just recieved my VTC "upgrade" in the mail today. I'll honestly probably never get rid of it because it's such a different flavor from the 'Ray. But for the first time in a long time, i'm completely content with all of my basses(I have a MIM F*nd*r P too).

I have put a bit of playing time into these beauts and here is my take:

1. I am surprised by the Bongo. Light weight and a ton of tone. Very easy to play - even though I prefer a jazz size neck like the Sterling. Very unique look and that may take some getting used to - but I bet it will look cool on stage.

BTW - my band, Dogs In The Yard (www.dogsintheyard.com) will be at The Toad Tavern (www.toadtavern.com) in Littleton CO 9/9/06 - 8-10pm.

2. SR-30th - WOW nice bass - absolutely gorgeous. The birdseye neck is killer. Lightweight - this is the 9.2 pounder from Steve. Very comfortable. Very similar tone to the Bongo - I think I prefer the Bongo tone. The case is great - but very heavy. Not sure this one will remain in my possession. I will think about it for a while.
