Looking at a USA SUB bass tomorrow

Hello everyone, first post. I'm looking at a USA SUB bass tomorrow and I'm already pretty set on buying it. I've wanted to have a Music Man bass for quite some time and I think this would be a good opportunity to finally see for myself what they are all about. I hear the discontinued SUB series offered a pretty serious amount of BASS for the cost of the instrument. This one in particular appears to be in very nice condition. It looks the the original pick guard has been changed, (confirm?) but I'm not too concerned about that. The seller has agreed to let it go for $500. Should I pick this one up?

Cheers & Peace

Pickguard has definitely been replaced. Looks to be in good nick. Can't speak for the pricing in Canada but SUB's definitely give you a bang for your buck IMHO!

I have owned many and they are great instruments. Price seems a little high. Does it come with a case.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah, $500 is a little more than I want to pay... No case included by the way. If I didn't have a hefty repair bill coming up for one of my basses, I'd probably go for it. I told him I'm going to stick with my original offer of $475... Every dime counts at the moment. If I don't get this one, I'll keep my eyes peeled for another. They pop up once in awhile for sale second hand here, I once saw the same one listed for $400. (should have bought it, obviously)

Cheers!

If you like that bass - no reason to be mean for 25$. EBMM bass even if it's SUB for 500$ sounds very good to me.

Thanks for the response. You're right. I shouldn't let a $25 difference be a deal breaker, especially if I like the bass. So, at the very least, I think I should go and give it a try and then make a decision from there.
