Thanks guys! I'm following up on all your tips.

@five7: That gold is spectacular, thanks for the tip!

@Erin, looks like that one is on hold, but GC actually has an equivalent used one for cheaper, Tampa store.

Thanks again!

Having recently purchased a true gold, I can attest to it's spectacularness :D

Well, have you ever sold an EBMM bass because you found something better?

Me neither.

Hmmm. This is exactly what is going through my mind. There is a black 4 string Big Al with rosewood fretboard at my local store. Exactly what I would want.

I am contemplating selling one of my basses to get the Big Al. Maybe the Sterling 4H.

I love my Sterling but I can get the Sterling sound plus a whole lot more out of the Big Al. Its got so many tones...

Someone talk me out of this please.

I approve of this thread! :D

A Big Al sure beats the snot out of a copy of the latest "Guitar Hero"! I'm psyched for your whole family!

You cannot go wrong with a Big Al with SSS and a maple board. I absolutely love mine!!!! And as ADouglas said, I too spent lots of money on other basses that I quickly grew tired of. The Big Al is a keeper for sure! Fantastic gift! Hope you get the colour squared away and I'm sure your daughter will enjoy it.

HAPPY ENDING!!!

We decided on the Blue one from Amazon. Will be here Monday! I have a gig New Year's Eve (she's in the band now), and she has no idea she'll be slinging a Big Al.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in!
