Hey fellow MM freakazoides--- I am wondering if anyone out there owns the first EBMMEVH I ever bought in 1992- It's a Sunburst Flame SN# 85436 I bought it from the GC in Chicago in 92 and sold it back to them in 99- I would be thrilled to buy it back if anyone has it- Please write me if you do
Now for the great story behind my first purchase-
It was 1992, I was 32 years old- Had not played in years and decided to go buy a guitar and amp and start playing again- I was at the old GC store on Clark street- It was about 8:00PM, an hour left to close. I was playing some Les Paul’s and the sales guy handed me a sunburst EBMM EVH and I fell in love- I actually fell in love twice that night - While I was playing the guitar the sales guy came back and said- Did you see who's in store..I said, no who- He said Alicia Silverstone- Yes, she was there alone buying a guitar for some video she was going to be in- He showed me her DL- he was in the process of writing up the sale- I went over and spoke to her- I think I mumbled a few words—She said “nice guitar” All I could think of was ask her out- Ask her out... I could not get balls up... MAN.... remember this is 1992- she was young and hot.....
Now for the best part-
When I walked in to the GC I had never heard anything about these guitars. I did not know it was co-designed by EVH- The sales guy did not know either- He just thought I would like the feel of the guitar-
I asked him if there were any other color choices and he pointed to the wall- There was a solid black, a solid Gold and a Green quilt-
I said- as he agreed on all points- The green is ugly as ****- everyone has a black guitar and the Gold Top looks ugly as well.......I’ll take the burst….
And the beat goes on.......
