Good luck.... I spent months searching for a Pre EB Sabre. Patience and diligence finally paid off. I was able to obtain a near mint Sabre off of eBay. They come up very rarely and are usually beat to death or hacked up in some manner when they do.
The only advantage you have is that it seems a lot of people aren't too familiar with them so the bidding is usually moderate. I could not find one outside of eBay in no way, shape, or form.
I had passed up a chance to buy a Sabre a few years back. Now I am regretting it. It was like $550. It had a natural finish. I am looking for a Black or Sunburst one. But would probly take whatever. As far as the Cutlass goes. I would prefer a burst, but would take whatever. But goodluck to anybody searching for one. I have not been able to track one down. But I will tell you I have found some of the greatest basses in the oddest places. I found a 1979 Fender Precision Bass in this Podunk Town Pawnshop for $400. Soo........Yeah I bought that, & traded it for an Ernie Ball Stingray.
