The guitar is amazing and I couldn't be happier.

I would like to know a few things about it. There doesn't seem to be any info available about it at the EBMM site, at least that I can find. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Questions below:

  1. Did it ship with RPS strings?
  2. What type of floyd is on it?
  3. What is the value of the volume pot?
  4. Is the neck oiled or raw from the factory?
  5. Is Casey Tru oil the recommended oil/treatment for the back of the neck as it is for my Axis?
  6. Is it a limited edition run, if so how many were/are going to be made in total?

Cheers,

Tom

1: The world may never know. I am going to try something new and throw some cobalts on it this weekend any way.

2: I am 99.99 percent sure it is s GOTOH floyd, It appears to be slightly different than the Gotoh floyd on my 2004 Axis, hence the question.

3: Looks like other spec sheets indicate EMGs require a 25k ohm pot.

4: I am going to assume its been lightly oiled, it sure does feel smooth.

6: According to jacob, production numbers are never released. I respect that.

Cheers,

Tom

RPS strings are the same as standard Slinkys but with a reinforcement around the windings at the ball end on the plain strings, which would be cut off for installation on a Floyd so, no, they are not RPS. Whether they are standard Slinkys or coated Slinkys or Cobalts, I can't tell you.

The neck is oiled and waxed from the factory, same care and treatment as any other Music Man neck.

DrKev,

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I always like to know as much as I can about my instruments. You know I didn't realize that RPS strings are only reinforced at the ball end, had I, I would have not asked such a ridiculous question. I plead ignorance on that question.

I have only recently began considering trying something new in the string department, as the super slinky strings have always worked fabulously for me. I have been prompted to try the cobalt strings by several players in the last few months. At twice the cost, it is hard for me to change something if it isn't broken. But after heading into the guitar shop yesterday I bought a set after yet another prompting from a player in there. So I am going to give them a try.

Thanks again,

Tom
