Your ampegs are okay?

Amazing that the Stingray survived. Quite a testament to how hard it really is to kill one.

BTW, quite a few of the forumites have Sterling HHs (I don't) and love them. Bass Central does have quite the selection, generally - but don't neglect our beloved DuBaldo Music, operated efficiently and with great compassion by Pete DuBaldo.

Welcome to the new DuBaldo Music Center website!

Pete's a regular contributor here and takes good care of forum members.

Good luck with the Sterling - and sorry to see the carnage!

Yeah actually, both ampegs are fine, they were closest to the van in the trailer, and really only fell out when they got hit.

The Stingray was damn near fine too, I've dropped that thing so many times, twice onto the input jack with a cable plugged in, and I've never had a single problem with it. You can actually see in the first pictures i posted that it's sticking out of the bottom of the case. Next tour I'm going to be investing in some ATA flight cases for both basses, as well as road cases for my cabinets.

If anyone needs road cases or any case for that matter, check out New York Cases. They're super cheap, and my rack case can be seen holding up the trailer.

I've always been interested in getting a Sterling, and I really don't think I could go wrong with any MM bass.

I'm actually thinking about taking the electronics out of my warwick, and hot rodding my geddy lee jazz with the two humbuckers and active electronics. If I can actually route out the body properly, I'll post some pics here when I'm done.

I was fortunate to have demoed the Sterling 5 HH and HS for two weeks and used them both live and in the studio. Both have distinctive sound differences and they do sound and record beautifully. I chose the HH version which seemed to suit my needs better.
You will notice that the Sterling 5 is a much more streamlined instrument in all aspects compared with the SR . For me it feels and plays much like the Bongo which is my # 1 bass.
