White is much under-rated, Robster....... I've got 2 whites.
A great colour which really shows the lines & shape of an axe....

And unless you're Don Johnston wearing a white suit, the guitar always stands out on the player.

Thanks guys. I am very happy with it so far. I was able to find a dimarzio clip lock system in a color that matches the finish perfectly! You can see the clips hanging from the strap buttons in the pics. When I bought my first guitar, I bought some clip locks, but took them back for fear of harming the finish (by the clips clinking around on it). But, after owning one for a year, I have come to realize that it is going to take MUCH more than a plastic clip bouncing around to harm the "tough as nails" finish on an EB guitar. I can't wait to surprise my bandmates and other friends when I pull my new axe out unexpectedly! They're jaws are going to drop...

It's interesting you say that about the cliplock straps. Because I saw a video with Steve Morse using the same type of dimarzio cliplock strap and his was all scrathed up, from where the plastic buckle was.

hmm... You'd have to be pretty rough with it to actually hurt the finish with the plastic clips. I am extremely gentle when taking it to/from the case with the strap disconnected.

Now, were they scratches or chipped paint on Morse's guitar? I'd like to see a picture if possible! That's not to say I don't believe you, but I would like to see what COULD happen if you are not careful!

Any users of the Dimarzio clip lock have anything to add?

This is the video, you probably already saw it.....and the scratched surface might not even be from the clip locks.

At 3:20ish it looks like it shows some "wearage" (is that a word??) around where the cliplocks are.

But then again, if you look at some Petrucci videos,I haven't seen any scratches on his guitar from wear the clip lock hits. So your probably going to be okay.

I hope so! i'll switch at first signs of scratches. I'm watching the Morse vid as we speak.

edit: Wow. That guitar looks like it has seen some major use. It is scratched up EVERYWHERE. I'll be alright unless I start gigging every night for years on end.

Oh, and if "wearage" isn't a word, by golly it should be.

I'm not sure what kind of strap i'm going to get for my JP. Are those Dimarzio Cliplock straps comfortable?? They seem to be very poplular.

yeah, they are comfortable. They are wider than the basic strap. In my case, the color was such an exact match, I couldn't resist! Might have to get one for my MD JP now...
