New battery is not the problem, all wires seem securely soldered, yet when plugged into an amp, it starts farting quietly an progressively gets louder, crackles with movement of patch cord, only to fart more viciously. and when strings are played they only make more distorted noise
plays quietly yet clear with no battery inside
preamp? whats up

After you call customer service, give Pete a call. He used to be a pharmacist, and I think he can recommend a prescription to give you some "relief" from that gas.

Have you tried a different patch cord?
