Loving my Luke 3

As some of you know I traded my custom 22 for a Luke 3 BFR , it's the first guitar I haven't really been able to put down in a long time. I put 9.5 strings on it and it plays so good. Ive only really played it through helix native on my computer but last week I played it through my old Yamaha dg80 and it sounded incredible. I love the transition pickups they sound amazing and the split sounds are perfect single coil sounds to me with no volume loss. Also love the boost , wish I had it on all my guitars It's so useful. I Absolutely love this guitar and the fact it has a maple neck makes it even better. Only thing im gonna do is put bigger frets on it. just a personal preference.
Im thinking I want to get a fuchsia sparkle with ssh next but not sure. I have other guitars that really need to go now.

I agree, the boost is spectacular and I find myself wishing all of my electric guitars had on-board boost!

Both of my L3s have the DiMarzio pickups. I'm looking forward to trying a newer one with the Music Man pickups.

I don't know if you tried, I am running 24V for a past couple of months and love it so much. I think it is a worth upgrade from 9v. (if you care about someone else's opinion :))

I don't really think it's for me or my playing style. All the demos I've seen are all metal/chugga-chugga stuff that I don't play, so I can't really gauge any benefit.

I actually think it’s opposite. On a high gain I like better lower dynamic range and compression of 9v powered emgs. It’s clean/braking up and picking sensation where I like it best.

I love the idea of putting larger frets on a Luke. Go for it, Gio! I think that will take the Luke to the next level and secure it as your number one.

Congrats on the BFR LIII! The LIII is amazing (my fav). Glad it’s working out for you. Enjoy!
