I always had a problem with Schallers turning on the strap. The horseshoe would somehow end up open-side-down. I dropped my bass a couple times before giving up on them. I liked the Dunlops, except for when it came time to remove them from the strap...can't tell you how much time I've spent looking for those little clips after they shot across the room.

I like the EBs the most. They function a lot like the Dunlops, but look better and you have to push both buttons to release the lock. The EBs also use the same-size screws as the stock screws for EBMM basses.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

My Big Al screw fits perfectly inside of the Schaller button. Haven' tried the SR5 screw yet. Looks like I'm going to be going that way but will switch over to EBMM locks is there are any issues.

I'm loving the EB Super Locks (yes, my original screw works fine, no need to drill anything for the supplied screw). Impossible to lose the locking nut, no Schaller-type clanky noises (which annoyed the poop outta me), impossible to accidentally unlock, and they still leave you with a good strap button that works with a regular strap. Genius!

The screws that come with the EBMM super locks should be the same width and thread pitch as the original screws. They are I think shaped different at the top and a little shorter, as the head sits at the bottom of the strap button, as opposed to the top like in the stock buttons.

I have EBMM super locks on all three of my EBMM basses. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are somewhat bulky. Everything else I love though.
