Congrats to Luke who will probably want to hide after seeing that bad hair day photo lol, but that was definitely a no brainier.I wish they would of stretched it to at least 15 as there are some truly worthy names including Albert Lee for one not there. I saw it was taken from the Gibson Forum and I really have to laugh at the names readers are complaining about not being there like Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Lennon and Slash to name a few. Do these guys understand there is a huge difference from a star player making a cameo guest appearance on someones album and a true session player. By the way Jimmy Page also played the little guitar lick in Tom Jones -It's Not Unusual, I always got a kick out of that bit of trivia.

This list is a little bogus. Luke clearly has to be there for sure, but Jimmy Page? c'mon, he did a few sessions when he was coming up but give me a break. Best sessions list and no Mike Landau, Paul Jackson Jr, Dann Huff or Jay Graydon?

Yeah man, all these lists eventually turn into arguments... 10 best this, 10 best that... whatever.

But Luke is special, no doubt about it. The right man in the right place(s) at the right time. Bless him.

Dann Huff was a top session guy, but I got to see him live in 91 with Giant, and it was unbelievable. He had the exact tone live that was on the Giant records, and of course, amazing playing.
Now he's a successful producer in Nashville to boot, Keith Urban even indicated how much Dann influenced his guitar sound in the studio.

The first two giant cd's had some of my favorite guitar playing of all time on them , only thing i didn't like was the way they always faded the song out when he was ripping an awesome solo

Those are great albums for solos. Dann and Luke had very similar styles back then, they had a knack for finding the most tasty bends to outline the chord changes. they had to fade out those tunes because Dann would be losing it and go on ripping forever
