Cool vids. Japan is an awesome country. Where else can you see awesome guitar players going head to head and having fun on public tv? We have a lot of stations here but most of them suck. The closest we can get to rockers playing like that is Supergroup on VH1, and that's sad.

Hi, I am the guy who uploaded that video and while Japan Does Usually get the cool shows this show was actually in North Hollywood at the Baked Potato. It was a Benefit for Arts-Kan in April 2004. I was sitting somewhere in the backround

yeah, I know yours was from the states (and I appreciate it very much). I was refering to the other one. I've seen other players like Paul Gilbert (loved in Japan), more Marty Friedman, and other shredders on Japanese TV dueling it out.

Speaking of the great Luke check THIS out....Swapping solo's with Marty friedman

Thanks for sharing! Marty is one of my favorite guitar player. He did some amazing stuff with Megadeth... as a teenager Rust in Peace was my favorite album. It would be cool to see him play an EBMM.

Cheers

I 'd love to see that whole show. This video is definitely one of my favorites too.

Every time I watch it leaves me with Luke gas.

anyone know the song they play a bit of at the end?

is it by King Crimson? (sounds like Larks' Tongues in Aspic?)

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Birds of Fire "Hope"

YES. Thanks! It was driving me crazy trying to think of it. - Seriously, I laid there in bed trying to sleep going, "gah. I know what it is...but wtf is it???"

All I could think of was King Crimson ("Larks' Tongues in Aspic" is a sort of similar riff)

Love Luke's comment a the end:
"We used to play that song at high school proms and watch the looks on people's faces -:confused: True story."
