I decided to try the 89 in my Luke (original w/Floyd) so I took out the 85 and put in the 89 but the connector or maybe the thicker cable has prevented me from keeping the height the same. The pickup height is right at the point that everything works and sounds good, but I would prefer the pickup to go a bit lower to allow the action to be adjusted down a bit.
Has anyone else run into this issue? How much material should I have removed from the cavity to allow the pickup height to have some usable adjustment? 1/8"?
