My Luke 3 is by far my favourite guitar in terms of comfort, playability and sound. As it is a HH, I'm now thinking of buying one of the new BFR models, HSS version.
I think that the Transition pickups of the original L3 were outstanding. They seem to be no longer on the parts list for the BFR models, it just says 'DiMarzio Custom...'.
Was there any statement made on why there will be no more Transition pups on the L3 BFR, and if there will be any design and/or sound changes ? Or was it just a name change and they will be identical?

Oh yes, and was there any statement made by EB on availability of the BFR models?

Different wood cocktail could mean different pickups.

No, the singlecoils on the L3 and BFR are proprietary parts. They are the same pickups. It is the same thing with the Axis pickups thay are in the Axis, the Reflex and the HHAL... Just says custom Dimarzio.
