Question Luke 3 HH : 5 way switch and pre-amp

Hi,
does anyone know:
1. how are the humbuckers used wrt the 5-way switch?
2. is the pre-amp active always or only when boost is on? (any change in output impedance)

My setup: Gtr > Lehle sunday driver > G-system (4-cable method) > CAA PT100
