Hello everyone,

I am the happy owner of a Luke 3 HSS and have some questions regarding its electronics.

1 / Has someone already changed the 'fragile' push push pot for a more sturdy push pull ?
If so, what kind of push pull is it ? Value of its resistance ? Linear ? Log ?

2 / Has someone already made the luke 3 completly passive ?
Removing the preamp and installing adequate volume and tone pots ?
Is it easy ? Vol and tone pot values ?
(it should be interestin because my Fuzz does not like the preamp at all...).

Thanks !

Cheers.

Mine gets bumped dozens or hundreds of times every gig and still in great shape , so " fragile" sounds inapropriate to my ears.
Lots of the guys posting here had one small issue : loose screw that holds the knob in it's position, that's it. Of course there were some broken ones but s@/t happens everywhere:)
So, bro , don't worry, play it hard - if you ever wish to go completely passive, I'll buy the preamp from you , as many of the guys here will propably do .

Mine has a problem and will be replaced. There is also a discussion about this issue on the forum.

I love my Luke but I think this is the weak point on this model.
So I'd like to have the opportunity to change it to a passive one, to come back to an active one (don't want to sell my preamp), to install a push pull if I prefer !

My question is technical and I do not want to start a sterile debate.

The tone pot is a standard 500kΩ log pot with a 0.022µF capacitor. If you replace the existing volume control and dump the preamp you will simply use a standard 500kΩ audio taper pot there too.

To replace the existing push-pull, email customer service and they'll let you know what the current type and value of the volume pot is. You can then buy any suitable replacement from where ever you wish. You can direct replacement direct from EBMM of course. Or you could go in there with a multimeter and simply measure the existing pot.

Thanks for your clear answer.
