That is a video that has made luke not sit in anymore....Wheeled out a Marshall no sound check the people with the cell phone cameras right in front of his amp post it on you tube and he get just murdered....I was there in a proper seat behind the board and they both sounded killer This is the unfair part of mobile cinematographers and the visciou keyboard warriors.

great video , 2 amazing guitar players. Joe seems to be using EBMM more often nowadays. I saw him playing with a Petrucci model and a Y2J.

I thought it was the Satriani gig that was the end all???

All the vids I say for the GC King of Blues Final are killer.
I watch/listen to them all the time.

Such great players! And I think Steve's tone is awesome as well as Joe. Those people making those ridiculous comments have no idea what they are talking about. That 3H AL really does suit Joe.

The comments on that video are ridiculous. Way too many douches in that comment line. I have a feeling that no matter how amazing Luke played, no matter how great his tone was, he would get ripped for some lame reason. Negative peeps everywhere that show no kindness and have huge grapefruit sized balls from the safety of their living rooms. Sounds great to me.

I completely agree with you all here on some of the comments posted on you tube, what a complete and utter bunch of numptys some folks are,its not a competition for gods sake. I love these impromptu gigs as musicians with the talents of JB and SL can pull something "out of the bag" when its unrehearsed, just listen to some of the phrasing.Wonderful.

Great video -- and the comments are junk.

I had the pleasure of seeing JB earlier this year. He was fantastic...and he played some Balls which was like the icing on the cake for me.

Idiots

Anyone who judges a performer based solely on one performance is an idiot, plain and simple.

Being familiar with Luke's work (which is enormous, both in and out of Toto) and expressing an opinion based on that knowledge is one thing, but listening to a single performance on stage and making disparaging remarks, without knowing anything else, is just absurd.

Luke is awesome. He's jaw dropping every time I hear him... If he really has given up on sitting in because a bunch of idiots don't get his playing, then that sucks.

Here's why it does not really matter that the people who worship snooki and "the situation" don't like his "tone" or style. We find ourselves living in a dark age for artist's and art right now. There is way more recognition and financial success available to someone who gets drunk and falls of a bicycle on MTV then there is for someone who pushes the limits of the guitar every day of his life for last 30 years. We are living in a dark age for artist's right now to be sure but remember that artist's have always struggled to bring something special to the world. If it was easy, then maybe it wouldn't be as valuable. And that goes for creating art and for getting it out there and sharing it. It's all hard but worth it.

Don't despair, keep playing great music, keep working on great art and that is your reward. The art you create is the reward... Hell, it would be nice to get some money too, but really money comes and goes. Art lives on. In 100 years, humanity will still see the genius of great musician's and innovators like Steve, Joe and EBMM. What they won't see is real housewives fake-fighting with each other from 2009.

I'm sure all kinds of stupid vacuous stuff was created in the late 1500's in England that got a lot of people rich or famous, but in 2010 the thing we remember and still cling to from that place and time is the work of William Shakespeare.

So Luke, if you read this... I for one would love to see you sit in anytime, anywhere and you are always invited to jump on stage with my band!

Steve
