Luke battery access

I know I'm on a Luke trip of late, guys, but please bear w/ me

I know the version 1 Luke did not have a convienient battery access door and you needed to unscrew the back plate to replace the battery. When was the little battery flip-out compartment put into production? During later version 1 production (96/97) or solely w/ the Luke version 2?

On my Luke1 from '96 it has a compartment. I didn't know they were accessible from the back cover in earlier years. Interesting

So it was done during the Luke I phase. I wonder how long the "no battery compartment" Luke I's were in production?

Hey Glock...

My original Luke was completed May 12, 1994 and also contain the battery compartment...

I have only ever seen one original luke without the battery compartment and that also featured emgs with exposed pole piece single coils... may have been the same one you saw...on eBay recently?...perhaps that was in fact a proto?

both my Luke battery compartments always fizzle and sound like there disconnecting its the only thing i dont like on the musicman guitars but hey they are still the best guitars out there!!!
