Hi folks,

This could be a really stupid question but, if the Luke III doesn't have a battery installed will the pick ups still work?

I ask because I had a Parker Fly years ago and it required a 9 volt battery for the Piezo pickup and the pick ups on the guitar were passive. Even if you didn't have a battery in the guitar the regular pickups wouldn't work. Im wondering if it's the same for the Luke guitar.

Thanks.

It will not. The pickups are connected to the preamp/boost switch - and it needs the battery to work.

One controls the amount of Volume boost and the other balances the pickup selector position 2 & 4 volume with 1-3-5...

Yeah, I think the Parker system is the only one out there that keeps going if the battery dies or is gone. I liked that in the NiteFly I had. Nice feature.
